The winners of Jackson’s Open Painting Prize 2017 were selected from over 2,000 submission entered by artists from all over the world. The range of work submitted showed a real diversity of mediums and subject matters. The judges on the panel had the unenviable task of choosing three winners from the shortlist of 25 outstanding entries. All of them commented on how much they enjoyed the judging process and were as eager to see the winners as all of you. We had a two-tier selection and judging process: the Jackson’s Judging panel selected a long-list and then a panel of expert judges (curators, gallerists and artists) selected first a short-list and then the winners. We had 4 Category Prizes which were chosen from the long-listed entries, each receiving £1,000 in cash.

Expert Judging Panel

Jackson's Open Painting Prize 2017 had a wonderfully talented expert judging panel commenting on the incredibly high standard of work submitted.
