COMMENDED ENTRY OF THE WEEK:

AS THE MOON RISES BY SHINYOUNG PARK

As the Moon Rises
highlighter, ink, watercolor and wine on paper
77x57cm
Shinyoung Park

'My pursue in art is to capture a certain moment which shows unexplainable points in daily life. For me, the creation of an image is in the process of freezing and reviving a certain moment in mortality. The only thing I do is to treat the dead moments as an undertaker and to gather them as a collector. This work is the complex of my observation in a restaurant and white moon in front of my room's window by imagination. It is like a self-portrait showing my nostalgia about my home country.'
